The word journey can have several definitions; one example would be the act of traveling from one place to another. Well this is the story of a lady and her 1930 Ford Model A 5 window Coupe that she calls Sheneeda, and the journey she’s traveled. Let us introduce you to a wonderful lady by the name of Randy LaFrance from Beavercreek, Ohio. Randy has been in the Automotive Industry for 30 years, where she is employed by Jenell Ross of The Bob Ross Auto Group from Centerville, Ohio. She works in the Mercedes Benz Parts & Sales Dept. Randy grew up in Greenacres, Washington in the Spokane Valley area, where she and her 3 other siblings grew up around cars and built with their parents. Her late father was George LaFrance who enjoyed restoring Model A’s, while Randy’s mother Eileen helped him every step of the way. They both were very active in the Spokane Ford Model A Club. After Randy’s father George was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he started focusing more on enjoying his finished cars and traveling with his wife Eileen, not sure if he wanted to tackle this last project. Both George and Eileen knew Randy wanted to build a car, and believed she would make that happen. Randy’s parents said if you want the car just come and get her, so those were the only words Randy needed to hear. From the beginning Randy had two very special friends, Becky Mullins and Jim Trainor, who both said get this car and we’ll build it together. So with truck and trailer in hand, she left Ohio headed westbound to the state of Washington. Randy was excited to get the Model A back home, and this is where her incredible journey begins.
