Donna Downs' Chrysler 5.7 Litre HEMI engine.

To power their chassis down the road they opted to not put the original 228 CI Hupmobile Six. Instead, you can feast your eyes on a beautifully detailed crate fuel injected Chrysler 5.7 Litre HEMI engine. Transferring power to the rear wheels is curtesy of a Chrysler automatic 5 speed. Exiting the dirty gasses is handled through a 2 1/2" custom built exhaust system with Magna Flow mufflers that gives it that deep rumbling sound. Topping off the engine is a custom engine and air cleaner covers all built by Butch. With the Foundation completed it was time for Butch and Donna to move on to the Body work.

Donna's front seat interior.

They both felt the body on '34 Cabriolet Convertible with the Rumble seat needed to remain stock. So, Butch went over the body and smoothed it of any imperfections. Once he was satisfied he two-toned the Hupmobile a Bamboo Pearl and Black Sapphire Metallic. The last step for Butch was to track down all the original factory trimmings and add them as the final touch for the body. The last part of the build was to decide on the interior and accessories. Schober's from Sandwich Illinois stitched up the beautiful 3-tone leather upholstery throughout the interior. Even though the '34 is a convertible when the sun is just a touch to hot they can put it up and have all the comforts of a new car with the installed AC. Silver Faced Classic Instrument gauges helps them keep an eye on the important numbers of the cool Chrysler 5.7L HEMI under the hood. They both decided to go with a Budnik Banjo Steering. Whether the top is up or down they can hear the tunes just fine through a multi-speaker sound system.
